After graduation from Toho Gakuen College of Music, Ayako Shinozaki moved to the USA, where she continued her studies with Marcel Grandjany and Mildred Dilling.
| 1970 | Awarded 3rd prize at the International Harp Competition Israel. |
| 1971 | Debut recital in Tokyo including the Japan premiere of the Harp Concerto by Rodrigo. |
| 1972 | Start of a her recital series “The Harp of Ayako Shinozaki”. |
| 1974 | Sent to West Berlin and Paris under the Japanese Government Study Program for Promising Artists and Arts Fellowship, where she studied with Francis Pierre, Lily Laskine and Marie-Claire Jamet. During her stay in Europe she took part in the “Festival d’Aix en Provence ” and several concerts in Berlin. |
| 1980 | 3rd Solo recital at International Panmusik Festival. |
| 1982 | Solo recital within the festival ”Music Today '82”. |
| 1985 | Appearance within the opening ceremony of the 2nd International Israel Harp Competition As a member of “Sound Space Arc”, she participated in ”Festival d’automne” (Paris) in 1978 as well as in a tour to Europa and the United States in 1986 and a tour to Denmark and Sweden in 1987. |
| 1989 | Recital in New York, where she performed works by Toru Takemitsu, Akira Miyoshi, Toshi Ichiyanagi, and Toshiro Mayuzumi. Her performance won high recognition in the New York Times. |
| 1991 | 4th Recital, furthermore solo appearances with major Japanese Orchestras as well as Orchestras in Europe and America. |
| 1992 | Invited as a guest professor to Aspen Music Festival (USA), where she also appeared as a soloist within the festival program. |
| 1992 / 94 | Jury member of Israel International Harp Competition, 1997 Geneva International Music Competition. |
| 2001 | Awarded the National Arts Festival Award, the Nakajima Kenzo Award, and the 1st Saji Keizo Award of Suntory Music Hall for her 8th recital. |
